ipl 2020 : vivo pulls out as ipl title sponsor for this season - reports
The Indian Premier League has cut sponsorship ties with Vivo. Chinese phone manufacturers played a major role as sponsors in previous versions of the IPL. VIVO paid Rs 2199 crore for a five-year contract in 2018. The Indian cricket board on Sunday had announced that the ipl 2020 season will be played from September 19 to November 10 in the United Arab Emirates and announced that all sponsors were being retained.
Since the clash between India and China, the Indian board has been criticised by many for not cutting off ties with VIVO and other Chinese sponsors.
These days, the demand for China's bicot is very loud in the country. Many Chinese mobile apps have been banned by the government. Apart from this, there have been attempts to isolate China in many other ways. There is a lot of resentment about China among the common people of the country. People are avoiding the use of all products made by China.
At such a time, there would definitely be a ruckus when the Chinese company was associated with IPL. Therefore, this matter was decided to go ahead of IPL Governing Council or BCCI and go to the government's court. In view of these things, it has been decided to break the relationship with Vivo.
