In the inaugural game of World Cup 2019, former captain MS Dhoni once again looked at wicketkeeping gloves with Indian Para Special Forces Regimental Dagger Insignia with Wicketkeeping ICC General Manager, Strategy Communications, Claire Firlong, while talking to IANS, said that the BCCI has been asked to remove the symbol from Dhoni's gloves. He said, "We have requested BCCI to remove it" The rules of the ICC states: "ICC equipment and clothing rules do not allow the display of messages that are related to political, religious or racial activities or causes during an international match." Dhoni, who was awarded the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment in 2011, received training under Para Brigade in 2015.
